The Ripple for Project Linus

Well I took the left over yarn and started the ripple afghan for Project Linus but...yes I said but, it is turning out so nice (and big) that hubby was eyeballing it. So, I'm giving it to him once I finish the last strip of buff. Why is it not finished you ask? Well a friend of mine gave me one skein of burgundy to add to the colors and when I decided to keep it she gave me hell and not in a nice way. So I have since started another ripple afghan (much smaller) and will have it done by May 8th when Project Linus has their 3rd meeting. Then she will have to eat her words! Once I finish the PL afghan I will finish hubby's also.

I have so many projects now swimming around in my head it's making me dizzy, LOL! Baby booties, a wine bottle holder, another afghan...does it stop?

Emily's Crochet Afghan & Earthquake

Wow! Finally done! I think it turned out real nice and Emily's happy. It measures right about 60" square. I used about 7 skeins of red heart and yes I over bought. A lot! I'm still learning how to gage how much to buy. I started with 13 skeins making sure my dye lots matched knowing this is important for the project to look good. I'll post a pic to show how much is left over. I'm very surprised.

Here's what I started with: 2 skeins 16 oz. each & 9 skeins of 7 oz. each

1 skein 7 oz. & 1 skein 16 oz. Buff (the lg. skein is hardly used), 3 skeins 7 oz. ea. Cafe (one whole skein & partial left), 1 skein 7 oz. & 1 skein 16 oz. Coffee (about half of 16 0z left), 4 skeins 7 oz. Windsor Blue (one whole skein & second skein barely touched). I tried to get 3 skeins of each and 4 of blue since I knew I would be starting and finishing with the blue.

Looks like I'll be starting my first Project Linus blanket. I'm thinking of a ripple...yes?

Also on another note...Yes we felt the EARTHQUAKE! Holy smokes what a feeling. I'm sitting in my big comfy chair crocheting and then everything starts moving. It was the most bizarre feeling. Almost made me feel motion sickness. So where and what??? It was 20 miles south of the U.S. border in Baja Mexico and originally called a 6.9 on the richter scale but upgraded to a 7.2 ~ dang!

This is the afghan I'm crocheting for my daughter. I'm using 4 colors from red heart (3 browns and 1 blue). Still working on it, not quite done yet. Anyway, not bad for only my second blanket ever, LOL!

So once again I'm changing blogs. The problem is that I'm trying to keep things separate instead of just sharing everything on one blog and the e-mail address is the issue. So I'm joining all blogs here. I love the name Coffee Cafe' since we both drink coffee up the wazoo but it's already taken so I used My Coffee Cafe the first time. The other blog was Our Z Biz but again the e-mail was the issue. So now I'm using Our Coffee Cafe, well it is a blog about both of us, LOL! Hopefully this will be it and I apologize for the confusion.

So now to figure out how to import the old blog to the new blog? I haven't a clue. Since I just got a new MacBook Pro, I'm still learning.

So what else has been happening? Not much! I am working on a new afghan for my daughter. Pics will be coming soon...

The Coeur D'Alene and floating green

I thought I'd throw up some beautiful pictures of the golf course at The Coeur D'Alene. My son was up visiting his grandparents and grandpa took him golfing on this amazing course. This first pic is from their lake house across the bay from the resort. My son will inherit this house...lucky dog!

My "New" Haircut...

Well after years of long flat hair and a bad perm, I've decided to finally cut it all off.  WOW!!! What a relief.  Feels like I lifted 50 lbs. off my shoulders.  Getting ready in the morning...piece of cake!

New Friends from Tennessee

I've been following blogs and forums for a couple years now and I'm finally starting to put faces with names. Our new friends are Chet & Janet from Tennessee and what a pleasure to meet them. We've been over to their pad a couple times in the TC to hang out, chit chat and do dinner. They must like us, they were kind enough to take us for a wonderful steak dinner at Rawhide and do some window shopping. Then as if that wasn't enough...they kept us up until 2 am. Almost made me feel like I was sneaking in the house when I got home, lol. Thanks again, we really did appreciate your kindness. Here's my Tennessee friends...
