The Coeur D'Alene and floating green

I thought I'd throw up some beautiful pictures of the golf course at The Coeur D'Alene. My son was up visiting his grandparents and grandpa took him golfing on this amazing course. This first pic is from their lake house across the bay from the resort. My son will inherit this house...lucky dog!

Here's Andrew teeing off at the floating green...and yes he made it!

Wow! What a view...

I think they call this "on the beach!"

My "New" Haircut...

Well after years of long flat hair and a bad perm, I've decided to finally cut it all off.  WOW!!! What a relief.  Feels like I lifted 50 lbs. off my shoulders.  Getting ready in the morning...piece of cake!

New Friends from Tennessee

I've been following blogs and forums for a couple years now and I'm finally starting to put faces with names. Our new friends are Chet & Janet from Tennessee and what a pleasure to meet them. We've been over to their pad a couple times in the TC to hang out, chit chat and do dinner. They must like us, they were kind enough to take us for a wonderful steak dinner at Rawhide and do some window shopping. Then as if that wasn't enough...they kept us up until 2 am. Almost made me feel like I was sneaking in the house when I got home, lol. Thanks again, we really did appreciate your kindness. Here's my Tennessee friends...

Here are the rigs hanging out enjoying the perfect weather...while the group discusses all the TC stuff. You're looking at a Bigfoot (ours) Snowriver (Paul & Terry) Lance (Chet & Janet) & two chevy's and a ford.

Sitting around with Chet & Janet and Paul & Terry. These are the only decent pics I have...either the battery was going dead or Steve just doesn't take good pics.

New Years Resolution...Are you kidding???

So for the last two weeks I've been hitting the gym, running the treadmill and lifting weights. I'm finally starting to feel like it's paying off...Woo Hoo! I haven't necessarily lost weight but I'm feeling better each time I go, so it's just a matter of time. I've also been watching my food intake. I'm not doing the "Body For Life" Challenge but I'm trying to follow the plan as close as possible. Well today I made my first recipe from the Eating For Life Book and was it ever so fabulous! Those are big words from me, lol. I'm one of the pickiest, plane jane eaters on the planet. My nickname is Ms. Vanilla! So I thought I'd share, you really should try it...page 287.

By the way, I substituted canned chicken for the tuna...(I don't eat fish). Can you believe this is one portion. I was stuffed!

1 can (6 oz.) Chicken or Tuna
1/4 C frozen peas (thawed)
1 slice of onion, chopped (I used red)
1 red pepper, diced (I used orange)
2 portions rotini (about 4 oz. or 1/2 Cup uncooked)(one portion is 2 oz. or 1/4 Cup)
1/4 C low-fat Zesty Italian Dressing

Cook noodles 9 min. mix everything together, chill if you like it cold.
Servings: 2

Check out this link and you'll see the Champions who did complete the Body For Life Challenge. Their transformations are incredible!

One Step Closer

Well we decided to have a huge garage sale for the first time ever...what a relief to get rid of all the clutter. It's amazing how much stuff you collect over the years that slowly start owning you.

So that being said, we also went to a local RV Resort and added our name to the list for an annual spot. They said it will take a couple years before we get one but we need that time; daughter is still in high school. We've just decided that the house is more work than it's worth. My older son (who moved out) really doesn't come around much, he's just too busy with his life. Other than the dispersed holidays, it seems the house isn't all that important to them. Neither one used the pool this summer. I think it's time to start planning for when we're empty nesters.

We haven't decided what route we'll go for the RV. The resort won't allow TC's so we have to get a Trailer or Class C. If we keep the truck and camper for future trips, we could get a trailer for the annual space to keep there as a home base. However, if we get the Class C, it makes sense to sell the truck & camper. Oh boy, decisions, decisions.

Thought I'd post a few pics since I've been talking about the rest of the Spokane Trip summer of '07. Here's a sneak peek of the river and the road down to our friends property. Did I mention that I drove this in the pitch black of night? Never again, lol.

Baking in Camper Oven for the first time...

Decided to try the oven for the first time...don't ask why I waited so long...I don't know. I used foil since the pan is old and had some rust, plus makes for easy clean up.

Pre-heat the oven

I baked them for 17 min. at 350ยบ
but next time I'll back off a minute or two.
The bottoms were just a touch too brown.

Passing the time while we waited for the
rolls to bake.   Steve won in case
you're wondering, lol.

Golden Brown

And the finishing touch...Orange Glaze...YUM!!!

Show Low Lake County Park

What a great ride up to the pines. I absolutely love driving up to Payson & Show Low. On our way to Show Low it got dark faster than I expected so unfortunately the scenery became the dotted yellow line I needed to keep an eye on. However, it wasn't all bad...we had an Elk walk right in front of us. Yes I did slow it down to under 30 just as he was trotting on the shoulder off the highway. I forgot just how "BIG" they are. Oh and finding our spot in the dark was quite the experience so we decided to try harder to get there before night fall.

Took a stroll over to the lake to see what's up. Lots of folks like to fish from the shore but the only thing with that is they like to throw their fishing line on the ground and not pick up after themselves. After about 10 min. we decided not to hang around any longer for fear of fish hooks ending up in the dogs paws. Not a pretty thought. The weather was beautiful and still quite warm for my liking but the nights were perfect. I think next year we'll wait a couple more weeks for cooler weather.

On the way home we decided to stop at subway in Payson and grab some lunch. We ate in the TC just to extend the weekend a little longer. Wow, I just can't wait to really hit the road. I'm always sad when it's time to go home, lol.

All in all, it was a great little get away...
