Spokane Trip Update...

Well after shutting down my old blogs I realized that I deleted the pictures that were used here.  So after spending the whole day fixing, organizing, retyping, it's up to date now, LOL!

This trip was taken the summer of 2007 in our TC.

Unfortunately we were short on time and trying to squeeze
family & friends in that we didn't even touch
the surface of what Spokane is all about.

I have some other photo's of the travel, plus things we saw
along the way but I'll save those for another blog post.

I'll close with this pic of Northern Arizona!

Project Linus & Crochet Friends

is a nation wide Charity that donates handmade
blankets to children who are seriously/terminally ill,
traumatized or in need.

The blankets are Crocheted, Knitted and Quilted by volunteer
"Blanketeers!"

Check out the website to find a Chapter near you!

Fleece blanket, I'm adding a Coffee (Red Heart) border.

This is the V stitch I'm still working on for P.L.
I'm using Sage (Red Heart), Buff (R.H.) & Burgundy (R.H.)
Would like to get it finished for the August meeting
if I'd quit blogging and surfing all day!

Another Fleece blanket that will have a Burgundy (R.H.) edge.

I've really been enjoying my time crocheting.
It moves along much quicker than knitting which is
a huge factor for me since I need quick gratification.

I tried knitting a few times but for some reason I have
a hard time with holding the needles.  Crocheting
feels very natural in my hands and seems to be more relaxing.

One of my followers, Debra Yorston is a very talented crocheter and
makes such beautiful pieces.  Check out her blog at:

Warning:

Debra's afghans are so pretty...they may have you
picking up a hook and starting a new hobby!

If you already crochet then you may find a
pattern to try off her blog.

I love her willingness to share!

Thank You Debi !!!

Fish Breath!

ok on a serious note...no joking!
I decided to start my vitamins again
yes again!  For some reason I can't seem
to stay focused and live the lifestyle.

Well after a year of being in a funk,
which I blame on the fact that I can't full-time yet,
I figured I'd better start getting healthy again.

Taking my typical multi-vitamin, C, and a couple others
I thought I should add an Omega 3, 6 & 9.  Usually I
take Flaxseed Oil but after reading on the net, it's
apparent that Fish Oil is better for you.

O.K. time to suck it up!
I don't eat seafood....

AT ALL!!!

Never tried and don't plan on it in my lifetime.
There's certain things that I just have to put my foot
down about and eating fish is one of them.
I don't even get in the water with them.
They completely gross me out!

Well after holding my breath, rolling my eyes in my head,
and gulping as much water as I could,
they actually went down pretty easy.
Within a half hour I was burping fish.

OH GAWD THIS SUCKS!!!

But I have to get healthy right?
So on a serious note...

Do any of you bloggers take vitamins?
Which ones?  Why?

Of course if you care to share!
I'd like to hear what you have to say...

Lies, lies, lies!!!

Yep!

You heard it here folks...
the great Weather Pro's have been telling me

LIES LIES LIES!!!

The forecast for the next 7 days will be

RAIN

however, they keep pushing it back and all we get is...

SUNSHINE!!!

maybe with some off and on cloud cover.

I know most would enjoy the sun but my cup is running over.
That sounds like a great song...sure enough after a little google
I found it by Bob Marley.  Yes I'll save your ears...
let's just say it wasn't my cup of tea!

So back to the Weatherman...
Please, please bring some rain
I'm due for a change!

Dawg Days...

OUCH!!!
Steve what have you done to me???

Seriously here's the cover up story...

Flies I tell ya!

Yep once in a while one gets in and the boys love it!
Mama caught them in the act being cute & funny.

Dawg Days!  (video)

Don't worry about watching all 2 min. LOL!
30 seconds will be more than enough to get the pic.

So back to my bruise...the fly landed on the slider
in the corner about half way up and
I thought I'd help Carl (he's white) see where it landed.
E.B. (the barker) did just that...he barked when
Carl spotted the fly and me having a flinching problem...

flinched!

And what does flinch mean?  to recoil, to draw back suddenly,
to pull away from source of fear...

Yep, I jerked my arm back so fast and hit the right side of the slider.
Good thing it wasn't the funny bone!

Did I say OUCH!!!  LOL!

Now I'm just a lovely shade of YELLOW!

They love their new FORT!

3 places at once!

You're right!  I can't be in 3 places at once!

Well, in my mind I can...

If you scroll down my page you'll see 3 tickers for the weather

Gilbert (that's where we live),
Minot (that's where my son is stationed),
Spokane (our home town of family & friends).

So there you have it!

Curiosity!

Didn't that kill the cat?

Mocha Fraps...

Since I'm having difficulties loading a video about the
bruise I got the other day I figured I go ahead and
teach you how to make a Mocha Frap.

BEWARE!

These things are sooo addictive!

For starters, I buy my frap mix online from
called Big Train Blended Ice Coffee (in Mocha Flavor).

When you spend X amount, shipping is free!
So I buy 5 bags at once and they come in a box like this...

My cost...$90.95
but 5 bags last a long time.

I drink one (sometimes 2) a day.
If I watch myself one bag lasts a month.
That's less than $20 a month.  Try spending that at
Starbucks and see how far you get.

Once the bag is opened, I store the powder mix in a small bucket.

It takes 1 1/2 scoops per drink.  Be sure to request a
scooper in the comments section if you decide to order.
Sometimes they throw one in the box and sometimes they don't.

Next I blend my ice cubes in my ice crusher
(picked this up from Costco),
add my milk & frap mix to my cup.

Then I add the ice and pack it down.

Fill it to the top!

BLEND!!!

On my Magic Bullet!

And there you have it!

I like to save the green & blue straws
til last since green's my favorite color ;)

Enjoy!

ps.  If you want to substitute the milk for Starbucks Frap Drink
they taste really good too!

but it does add more cost and calories.
Both I'm trying to avoid.

Cheers!  Happy Drinking ;)

Kinzel & Hyde ~ Blues Video I made...

So I've been sitting at my computer ALL afternoon trying to figure out
how to work imovie on my mac...

Finally it's done!

This song is by Kinzel & Hyde called Hear me talking!
I had the pleasure of meeting them while I lived in Portland since this is where they are located.  They play the local bars but mainly the Blues Festivals around the area.

When I decided I wanted to learn how to play the harmonica, Lynnann allowed me over to her home while she went through the basics for me.  Holy smokes!  It's hard!  So guess what?  I never learned.
Ya I know bummer since it's my favorite instrument.

The pics are of Lynnann & Stu (her partner).  The dogs are mine (filler) and the Dodge is a pic I took while out looking at RV Parks a couple weeks ago.

Enjoy!  Follow up video coming shortly!

Todays Ramblings...

So the weather man (notice I said MAN) claims
we would have thunderstorms today...
guess what?  NOTHING!

Not one single drop where I live.  He did nail the high temp though...

110ºF

Yep you read that correct!  So what did I see outside...

Nothing but BLUE SKIES!!!

So this brings me to my next topic...
Daughter was invited to a birthday party today,
so after dropping her off I snagged a few photo's
of the house, the garage, and the spare house.

Who lives like this???  WOW!

Down here in the desert, I can't even imagine the electric bill.
Let alone maintenance and upkeep!

This would be the um, 6 car garage.  Need more room,
ya they can handle you on the back 40.

Then what?  On the way home I decided to take
a pic of the corn.  It's unfortunate that these corn fields are slowly
going by the way side.  I'm completely bummed I never
got a pic with my bug (Willard).

After pulling into our place, I notice how pretty the entrance is and
grabbed a few more photo's.

So the Pacific Northwest (Washington State) might have
 Lilac's & Rhododendron's
but we in the desert have Bouganvilla!!!

And they are GORGEOUS!!!

And don't forget PALM TREE'S!

If there's 2 things I love...it's Coffee & Palm Tree's!

Life is Good!

Old dates added to the blog

Holy Smokes! Well FINALLY after much anguish I managed to consolidate all of my blogs into one here! So you will now see dates from 2008 & 2009 in my sidebar. Unfortunately there are dates missing (read GAPS) but that's o.k. because we weren't on the road so you didn't miss much, LOL!

Some of you folks have read my old blogs (sorry for the confusion) however some of you folks are new and may enjoy the pics.

So here's another something from my past...

All through the 70s I've had a fascination with bugs. NO not the creepy crawly kind!

The Volkswagen kind!

Then I saw the movie Footloose and I was hooked! Well it took a while to finally get one but once I did...the fleet grew!

This is our '66 ~ '58 ~ '65

Our son Andrew drove the '66, Steve drove the '58 Double Door Bus and I drove the '65 Willard! So how did Willard get his name you ask...Footloose! On the show Ren McCormack (Kevin Bacon) had a best friend named Willard (Christopher Penn) I think it just fit. Every morning when I'd climb in and turn the engine, my famous saying was
"Hello Willard"!

It's always fun to take pics of VW's. There's just something magical about them.

Unfortunately this is one of the few pics I have of Andrew in his bug.

This is how I rolled!

A New Blog to share

Well I've stumbled upon a blog that I felt was worth sharing. While not a blog about RV'ing like the ones I usually follow it's still an amazing journey of a family and the road they travel.
So the next time you have a flat, the campground is a little noisy, traffic has you at a slow crawl, or the rain has you blue, be thankful for these petty things. Yes I need to go look in the mirror and say this to myself 1000 times.

You can check out Stephanie's Blog at NieNie Dialogues.

Remodeling, Freshy & The Dodge

Well after spending ALL day changing my blog colors here (yes I'm slow) and deleting my old blog, I think I'm good to go. This is my one and ONLY blog now, LOL! Trying too hard to reinvent the wheel I've decided to "keep it simple stupid". So a big MHAW! for me.

In the meantime, I don't really have much to say other than it was a quiet 4th of July which is the kind I like. We did watch the fireworks from our bedroom window and that was nice to have front row seats without the crowd.

Other than that, for your viewing enjoyment I've added a couple pics of the boys!

So I finally downloaded a few pics I had on the camera and low & behold I got a couple more things to post...LOL!!!

Like these strawberries & grapes from Fresh & Easy. We call them "freshy"! Yep, I'll be munching on those today and tomorrow. Do they have these stores all over the U.S.A.? We sure hope so!

Gorgeous Dodge ~ my research says it's a 1956 De Soto

And lastly...while out looking at RV Parks we stopped in this Mobile Park and found some interesting stuff. This Dodge topped the list!

A Couple Cups of Coffee...

A professor stood before his philosophy class
And had some items in front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly,
He picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar
and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.
He then asked the students, if the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured
them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly.
The pebbles rolled into the open Areas between the golf balls.
He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.
Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous ‘yes.’
The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively
filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.
‘Now,’ said the professor, as the laughter subsided,
‘I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.
The golf balls are the important things – family,
children, health, Friends, and Favorite passions –
Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, Your life would still be full.
The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car.
The sand is everything else –The small stuff.
‘If you put the sand into the jar first,’ He continued,
‘there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life.
If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff,
You will never have room for the things that are important to you.
So…
Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.
Play With your children.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out to dinner.
There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.
‘Take care of the golf balls first –
The things that really matter.
Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.’
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.
The professor smiled.
‘I’m glad you asked’.
It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem,
there’s always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.’

The Coffee Shop....Literally!

So we decided at the beginning of the week that Friday we'd get up early and ride our bikes to The Coffee Shop. It's a 4 mile trek one way which we thought would be no problem! It wouldn't have been had it not been for 100 degree temps and two flat tires! Lets just say the rest of the day we did NOTHING! The heat zapped our energy.

Oh and to clarify the two flats...it was on the doggy trailer, LOL! That was a hard hump home for poor Steve. As for Carl & E.B. they didn't notice a thing!

Unfortunately I forgot the camera. Ugh! Pictures next time. Promise!
